Hi y’all! Today I have a food post that makes my mouth water just looking back on these pictures! We found some super yummy items from Sprouts for my husband and I’s lunch. Also, there is a fantastic sweepstakes that could not only benefit you, but your community as well! All the details are at the bottom of the post orhere.
For me, packing my husband’s lunch can sometimes be a drag. I always prepare it the night before, and sometimes… Well, sometimes it is close to midnight when I do it! I’ve been super lazy before and will just grab frozen foods or prepackaged things and I always feel bad because I know that there is better food out there for him.
One of our favorite meals recently has been a salad with chicken. It is so easy to prepare, because I just make a ton of chicken at once and put it in the fridge to use throughout the week. Also, we recently realized how fatty ranch dressing is (I know, you are probably not shocked! Haha) and wanted to try out a new dressing. We went to Sprouts for the first time, so this recipe will be featuring super yummy Sprouts products because we were just blown away with all of their options! Both of these products are by the brand Small Planet Foods at a discount, because they are both included in their April Monthly Deals! Y’all, go check it out here to see what deals you can find on different foods, no coupon clipping required.
What you will need:
-Food Should Taste Good Multigrain Tortilla Chips
-Annie’s Naturals Goddess dressing
Like I said, I’m all for making his lunches as easy on me as possible, but I don’t want to sacrifice yummy food! The night before I put the lettuce, chicken, and carrots in a Tupperware container. I usually add in croutons but then I saw how bad they are! So, I got creative and found these Food Should Taste Good tortilla chips and I crumble them in my hand to make a sort of bread crumb out of it. And oh my word y’all, this is delicious! In a separate container, I pour in some Annie’s Natural Goddess dressing so the salad won’t get soggy overnight. I took full advantage of these two items because they were both on sale, I felt great buying them because I only paid a little more than I would for an unhealthy, processed food product!
When my husband gets to work, he just adds in the dressing to the Tupperware with the salad in it and shakes it up to distribute it. I feel so much better knowing that while it takes a few minutes longer to prepare, I know my husband is eating something that is so much better for him! I also enjoy eating this meal for lunch at home and adding in some avocado. Another thing I noticed as I was picking out better ingredients at Sprouts, is there are no ingredients on the nutritional list that I couldn’t understand. Everything is natural and make me feel so much better knowing what we are putting in our bodies!
What you’ve probably all been waiting for: There is a super exciting sweepstakes that you all should enter! It is called theGet and Give Back Sweepstakes and it gives 5 people the chance to win a $2,000 Sprouts gift card for them, but also you get to nominate a local food bank to receive a $2,000 monetary donation, too! I know there are a lot of people and communities that could really benefit from this so don’t hesitate to enter. To enter to gohere

We love our family dinner times! But, sometimes we don't always eat the best. We are guilty of being lazy and ordering fast food a few too many times haha. My husband and I decided with it being a new year, we are going to make more of an effort to cook more from home. That brought up another resolution for us: not only should we be cooking at home more, but we want to strive towards eating better foods. What we love about Ragu pasta sauces is the fact that not only are they affordable, but they are filled with real ingredients (no artificial flavors here)!
Traditions are very important to us and now after being married for a year, we definitely want to make more of our own family traditions. We have made it a new tradition for us to cook together on Mondays. We are huge suckers for italian food and decided a good ol' spaghetti and meatballs would help start off the new year! My grandma has made this for our family for years and it feels so special to continue the family traditions into our own. We used our favorite Ragu pasta sauce for this recipe and if you haven't tried this flavor, I strongly suggest you do! We usually go for the Ragu traditional sauce, but after having the tomato, garlic, and onion we want to try all of the flavors now! (Can that be it's own new years resolution? Please? haha)
What you need:
-Ragu Pasta sauce (any flavor of your choice!)
And that's it! Let's get started!
1. Start by putting the stove on medium.
2. Put a separate pan, filled with however much water the pasta calls for, on the stove top and put it on medium high.
3. Pour your Ragu sauce in and let it warm up.
4. After about 2-3 minutes add in meatballs, lower the temperature to about low medium and cover! *Depending on what kind you buy though, just make sure you buy meatballs that are already fully cooked and can be cooked on the stove top!
5. When your water begins boiling in the second pan add in those spaghetti noodles.
6.Once your noodles are cooked strain them and pour in your meatball and Ragu sauce mixture. I like to do this rather than serve them separately because I really feel like the noodles soak up the delicious pasta sauce.

Just smelling all of this food, reminded me so much of being in my grandma's house! It made me miss home so much, but it makes me happy to know my husband and I can carry on traditions right in our own kitchen.
I wish that you guys could smell how yummy this is. After cooking the pasta, I combine the Ragu pasta sauce and meatballs to the noodles. I like to give it some time to kind of incorporate all the flavors together!
We can most definitely get used to eating this during the new year!! It turned out so amazing and I seriously have to credit it to the sauce. We've tried a few other brands, but we always come back to Ragu. I'm so happy we found this particular flavor. I know it seems weird to rave about the sauce, but besides the amazing flavor, it comes along with an amazing story! The creator Assunta hand crafted these sauces back in 1937 in her basement! She had the passion and drive to make her own recipes and they were passed down from generation to generation, and eventually to our plates! There is just something so fulfilling about cooking for your family and sitting around the dinner table with your loved one(s).
James and I have had one heck of a month! I had a family emergency and had to rush home to Texas, and then we had all the Christmas hullabaloo to worry about. So, here I am apologizing again for my absence!
With this month being so busy, we find it so necessary to take time to spend some quality time together. James has recently started AdvoCare, more specifically their 24 day challenge cleanse. He also joined CrossFit so with him doing all that, it's made me realize I need to step up my game and start cooking healthier! We decided on a nice chicken recipe, our signature asparagus (that everyone loves), scalloped potatoes, and some pineapple. Spending time together is so important to us and while we may not be the best cooks, it's fun to be in the kitchen and learn together.
If you are a lover of crockpots and chicken like I am, this is the recipe for you. My mom started making this a few years ago, and I have just loved it ever since! What's even better, is that so does my husband! He is such a picky eater (okay, I am too!) so when I finally find a meal we both love, it is a great day! I think crockpots are a godsend and this meal is great for the fall time when you just need something to warm you up! This is our salsa chicken recipe so I hope I explain everything well, and I hope you try it out for yourself!
