Salt Lake City Temple + busy days
Hey there! I am seriously the worst at being consistent. These last few days James has been on my laptop nonstop working on his math. The semester is almost over and he is just now starting it! He has had a very busy summer and he's already halfway through with an entire semester of math which is pretty impressive!
We had our first ever FHE alone yesterday. For those who don't know, FHE is Family Home Evening. It is a time for families to spend time together, do an activity, and/or share a message together. I bought a book a few weeks ago that has different fun activities in it which has been super helpful! Although some of the suggestions are a bit weird, there are some great ideas in it. If you aren't wanting to spend money on an activity book, Pinterest has awesome suggestions! The link to my Pinterest is in the top left corner of my blog, you can check out my board titled "LDS Things". I baked us some cookies, got the activity set up, and I also chose a message from this month’s issue of the Ensign. It was a great time to just sit down and have fun with James, I don’t know how we went so long without doing this!
Anyways, I had been wanting to go down to the mall in Salt Lake City [to hit up the Lush store of course!] so my mister and I went about 2 weeks ago. I got my Lush fix and we walked over to Temple Square and had a great time! We first went into the South Visitor’s Center first and I was approached by a missionary all the way from Brazil! She was so sweet and it was amazing to talk about the temple with her. We walked around some more and wandered into the Tabernacle. While the entire Temple Square is beautiful, I was most anxious to go to the temple itself. I obviously cannot go inside just yet but the outside is gorgeous enough to fulfill my desire [for now!]. We took a few pictures and I got cool shots of the temple, so my day had been made.
As for now, we are just hanging out and enjoying our summer. James is almost done with all of his school work and we will hopefully be leaving for Texas in a few weeks. This Saturday is also a big day, because I will be baptized and the majority of James’ family and our friends from church will be able to make it. I was pretty nervous at the beginning but now I’m just excited and want to just do it already! I will have to bear my testimony which makes me feel all sorts of emotions, because I am so nervous to speak in front of everyone but thank goodness it does not have to be too long.
I am sorry this post is a bit jumbled, I just have a lot of little things to touch on! My iPhone pictures will be posted below, because even though I’ve been slacking on my blog I take plenty of pictures to keep you guys updated!
