James and I have had one heck of a month! I had a family emergency and had to rush home to Texas, and then we had all the Christmas hullabaloo to worry about. So, here I am apologizing again for my absence!
With this month being so busy, we find it so necessary to take time to spend some quality time together. James has recently started AdvoCare, more specifically their 24 day challenge cleanse. He also joined CrossFit so with him doing all that, it's made me realize I need to step up my game and start cooking healthier! We decided on a nice chicken recipe, our signature asparagus (that everyone loves), scalloped potatoes, and some pineapple. Spending time together is so important to us and while we may not be the best cooks, it's fun to be in the kitchen and learn together.
Our Asparagus Recipe:
Preheat oven to 375
Place your asparagus on tinfoil and drizzle the oil all over. Don't go overboard, just make sure it all gets the oil on it. Sprinkle the cheese and garlic salt over it, be as generous or sparse as you would like! We then cover it in the tinfoil and get another sheet and wrap it up again. We cook it for about 20-30 minutes because we like them nice and soft. Just a tip from experience, cut the stem ends off because they are tougher and don't cook soft. And that is it! Everyone loves these and they are just so simple to make it's almost criminal! haha.
I encourage you all, if you don't already, to make more room for family time! It's hard to get caught up with life and get busy, but when you slow down and spend genuine time together; that is when you really value your family members! Have a great week y'all and I hope to get back in my blogging groove again!

I realize I have a blog that is based on all things in my life, but I feel like it may not help you guys really know me. I've been wanting to do a get to know me/questions post for awhile now and feel like today is a perfect day! I found this list from meganhasocd.com and figured I'd go for it!
1. What is your middle name? Nicole, pretty standard middle name, nothing out of the ordinary but I think it's very pretty!
2. What was your favorite subject at school? Easily my debate class. I love my teacher and my best friends were in the class with me (we were all very close!) It was the highlight of my time high school, hands down.
We finally got our Christmas tree! We got it from a tree farm who shipped them in from Oregon. The guys were super nice and I just love our sweet little tree! We bought a huge bundle of ornaments from Walmart and an over the top angel tree topper that lights up. I didn't realize when we bought the ornaments that they didn't come with hooks so we had to hold off on them. We continued decorating and we both agreed we liked the simplicity of our tree. It has such an earthy, natural look to it and we don't think we will add to it! I also want to return the angel and get a more simple one that doesn't light up haha. I took a few pictures of our tree and I'm excited to share them with you all!
Hey y'all! So I am all for shopping, but I have a special place in my heart for online shopping! I thought I'd put together a quick list of gift ideas for your family + friends. I have some long time loves and some new sites I am super excited to share with you all!
