Let's talk hair ladies! So I have seen this hairstyle going around like crazy and I thought I'd take a chance on it. Needless to say, I have been wearing it non stop and I love how it looks with my hair color. The half up braided bun hair trend is so fun and I love styling my hair like this because my ends are a little lighter, giving my hair some added definition. If you are wanting to learn how to master this hairstyle, look no further I got your back!
What you need: Bobby pins, small hair elastic, and a hair tie.
For this tutorial I straightened the bottom half of my hair because I liked the way it looked. I've also seen this done with curly hair, or natural hair, so do whatever you like best!
I then separate my hair by starting from the ends of my eyebrows and going all the way back to the crown of my head. The section should look kind of rectangular. I gather the rest of my hair I won't be using in an elastic so I can french braid easier.
To french braid your hair you start with the normal three pieces needed to braid. overlap the outer strands with the inner strands of hair. as you go, when you are about to overlap the outer strand, grab a bit more hair and then cross it over the middle. Make sure you pull it tight to keep the braid closer to your head. i then tie this off in an elastic to keep the braid together.
After letting the rest of my hair down, I grab more from the back. I did this pretty messily but you can do a straighter line if you prefer. I twist the hair and then wrap it around itself. (If you would like to see this in action, I posted on my Instagram this video tutorial!)
When I'm done wrapping my hair around itself I then bobby pin it in place, while pulling at it gently to get it how I want.
I love love love how my hair looks in a bun because my ends are a bit lighter thus adding more definition to my hair! If you want my secret to my success... John Frieda Brilliant Brunette®. I bought them from Walmart and if you are looking for some revival to your brunette hair, definitely try these out.
