With working full time, doing school, and getting hit hard with pregnancy exhaustion, I have mastered doing my everyday makeup in five minutes! I love getting put together even when I am staying home, because I feel a lot more productive, and it literally doesn't take much out of my day which I like.
I am participating in 12 Days of Blogmas, where myself and amazing bloggers have teamed up to bring you a blog post every day up to Christmas. What does this mean for you? Not only will you be introduced to 12 amazing bloggers, but there will also be a giveaway EVERY DAY, including Christmas!!!! I will always have the day's giveaway linked below.
Today's post is something right up my alley, and may be my favorite day of Blogmas! Okay, okay I am a little biased, because today is my giveaway day and one of you lucky readers will win a Lipsense Starter Kit, which includes a lip color, glossy gloss, and ooops remover (if you already have a kit I will do a lip color and gift instead!)
I am so happy to be able to share my 'go to' holiday look. I love doing a full face of makeup and the holiday time usually inspires for shimmery eye-shadow, I decided I would keep things more simple and focus more on having a subtle eye and a bold lip and all of my products fit into this little makeup bag. I know a lot of people travel during the holidays so I wanted to share how you can still look glam while using minimal products.
I have been using this NYX full coverage foundation lately, and I'm questioning why I ever stopped using it! I've tried a variety of different foundations, and while normally I use my MAC water weight foundation, I have been drawn to my NYX one more. It is not joking when it says full coverage and a little goes a long way. Because it can look a bit cakey if you use too much, I recommend using a damp beauty blender to lighten it up a little. If you are in a winter-y wonderland like I am, I strongly recommend starting with a moisturizer, like the yes to tomatoes moisturizer; it is my favorite!
I then apply my NYX wonder stick. (Also I am just now realized how much NYX I use in this look!) I highlight my cheek bones, below the hollows of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, and forehead. I then turn it over and use the contour on my hollows of my cheeks, temples of my forehead, and sides of my nose.
I also decided to use it as my eyeshadow and used the highlight all over the lid, and added in the contour on the outer edge and blended up to my crease.
I have yet to find the perfect blush shade for me, but I have found a great alternative! I use this NYX lipstick in tea rose and dab it on my cheeks and blend it in.
I have been vacationing here in Utah, so I travelled very light! Lately I have just been using my beauty blender to apply my foundation, wonderstick, and blush.
I know my brows are in need of a lot of help, but I am currently loving my new routine! I comb them out and then fill in a line above and below my eyebrow shape. I then comb it out again to make the line less harsh. This spooly is the end of a milani eyebrow pencil, and I use a NYC eyebrow pencil in brown.
If you have been reading my blog, you know this ELF liquid eyeliner is my holy grail eyeliner! I swear by it and it is the only one I've truly loved! I just did a smaller wing, but lately I have been loving doing thicker cat eye liner! If you'd like a tutorial on how to do eyeliner let me know, I have some great tips I'd love to share with ya.
I usually am a huge fan of Maybelline mascara, but I have loved this Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara more than I thought I ever would! It goes on so much less clumpy, and brings length and volume to my lashes. I highly recommend if you are looking for a new mascara!
I sell Lipsense because after receiving my first one I became hooked and knew I needed more! Today I wore berry which is such a great holiday color. Lipsense lasts all day and is kiss, eat, drink, and smudge proof! I even did a smudge test down below, which I realized is a lot easier to show in a video than pictures. I applied this in the morning and it lasted all day, even through my meals. Y'ALL. This stuff is the real deal! And, one of you will be able to try it out for yourself, the giveaway is linked below as mentioned.
And that is my final look! A perfect holiday beauty look for any parties, family events, or date nights you may be attending. (this lipstick will really come in handy then, it's kiss proof!) This is perfect if you are like me and travelling a bit, or if you are just into lighter/less time consuming makeup looks.
I am giving away a Lipsense Bundle and you can enter down below! The giveaway winner will be announced on my Facebook page + will close in 2 days so hurry and get your entries in!!!
Thank you for supporting The Strattons & thank you to Groupon for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
I love to get my hair styled, have my nails done, etc. Especially with James coming home soon, I want to look my absolute best! While you don't have to do all of that, there is just something so special about treating & pampering yourself!
Y'all know I am all about saving a few bucks and I have been overdue for a mani/pedi & just an overall pampering session for myself; so what is a girl to do?
If you remember awhile back, I posted about Groupon and their coupons, I knew that would be the first place I look!
I love their website and how easy it is to use. Groupon.com found all different nail salons and spas near me, and the deals they have going on. I have found salons that I didn't even know about and I have found some great deals at the same time. It's a win win!
I love having my Groupon account automatically logged in, so all nearby deals & coupons are tailored to my area.
If you are someone who needs a little extra pampering, head over to the Health, Beauty, and Wellness coupons! Groupon is completely free & I love that I can find deals and coupons, because I am saving money on everyday things!
What are some things you love to save money on? What is your go to pampering for yourself? I'd love to know down below!
This summer I have been trying out a few new products and trying to find the best makeup for just a light, sunkissed look. I have fallen in love with a few products, so I wanted to share them with you! Here are my 5 summer beauty must haves, and they are all drugstore.
disclosure: I have linked all of these beauty products to affiliate links. What this means, is every time a link is clicked, I receive a small (and I mean small) compensation. Thanks for supporting me and I obviously use all of these products that I have linked! ☺
ELF- Tone Correcting Powder
This product I swiped from my mom, and I have been loving it! I dab a little bit of the yellow around my nose where it gets red (thanks allergies!) and then put my foundation on over. I love that it is so easy to apply and corrects all the tones on my face.
Covergirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation
This and my MAC foundation are my absolute favorites. I have been using this one lately, because my MAC one is pretty pricey and since its summer I will sweat it all off haha. I love this foundation because it is so light but provides full coverage. I look like I have a full heavy foundation on, but I don't sweat it off or feel cakey.
ELF Blush and Contour Kit
I love that this blush goes in so shear and has a peach color pay off. I love that its subtle but has that extra shimmer, because it gives me more of a glow; which is perfect for summer time! The contour is a great shade to and is a lot more opaque. I suggest you use a light hand because a little goes a long way.
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
For the longest time, I only used Maybelline Rocket Mascara. I decided to venture out and try this one, and I love it! I sometimes combine the two, but I love that the L'Oreal mascara doesn't get clumpy or spider-like, no matter how many times I go over and add coats. i plan on doing a tutorial on how I do my eyelashes, so stay tuned!
Rimmel London Stay Glossy Lip Gloss
I'm usually a red lipstick kind of gal, but on occasion I get a pink gloss/lipstick kick! I have had this Rimmel London gloss for awhile now, and its easily one of my favorite lip glosses! The color is so vibrant, but isn't too overpowering on. It doesn't last very long as a gloss, but it does stay on pretty consistently (no weird patches like some glosses). I love the watermelon pink of this shade and highly suggest it! This color is called Fuchsia Fever.
What are your summer beauty favorites? I'd love to know down below. I hope you all are having a great summer so far ☼
Last week I did a post on Jamberry and I am definitely not pleased with my post. I was sent wraps by a woman who is super nice, and I promised to do a blog post on it.
In that first post, I basically just explained how to apply them and all that jazz. But, what I didn't really touch on them is how I honestly felt about them. So, here is my honest review on the Jamberry nail wraps.
Thank you for stopping by The Strattons Blog! Here are snippets of my life, motherhood, and the military!
