Last week I did a post on Jamberry and I am definitely not pleased with my post. I was sent wraps by a woman who is super nice, and I promised to do a blog post on it.
In that first post, I basically just explained how to apply them and all that jazz. But, what I didn't really touch on them is how I honestly felt about them. So, here is my honest review on the Jamberry nail wraps.
Listen, I'm a super simple girl. But don't get me wrong I love painting my nails. Back in High School I would do nail art for all the holidays and I probably change my nail color once a week. I am huge on doing my nails myself, but I've always been fascinated by the nail wrap niche. So when I was approached by her I was excited to try them out!
That excitement soon faded when I actually used them. On the back of the packet she gave me, there was a step by step instruction via pictures. I followed them picture by picture to make sure I did them right!
First off, I know I have weird fingers/nail shape but none of the wraps fit any of my nails right. They were either too small leaving my nail exposed (which is recommended to do but honestly I feel like it looks bad) or they were too big. This pinky is in the smallest size provided...
Putting them on was easy though, you just cut them, put them on your nail, then you are supposed to file. This is where all heck breaks loose because the file completely rips the nail wrap and you're left with jagged edges. No matter how slow and gentle I was, it still left them chipped. I found nail clippers work best for this instead.
The next issue for me was them staying on my actual nail. these literally fell off within the hour of putting them on, and after consulting the lady I was told I'm supposed to heat them with a blow dryer or the special Jamberry heat thing. Y'all... This becomes more time consuming then painting my nails! You have to heat them before and after you place them on your nail.
To me, this seems so time consuming and other nail wraps I've tried didn't require any of these extra steps. I've tried the Sally Hansen nail wraps (which I will link because they are amazing) and you literally just took them out, put them on your nail and filed them no problem.
After this first fail, I contacted her and asked to not do the post, but instead I was suckered into trying it again! Y'all, I truly hate that I hated these so much because that distributor was so so nice and I would probably buy some from her because she is just that sweet haha.
I tried again using the extra steps of using my blow dryer and I am still not very pleased.
I really did want to like this product, I mean I even gave it a second shot because I wanted it to work out. They have super cute designs but I think I'll just stick with doing my own nails, or buying the good ol' Sally Hansen wraps. I hate having to write a negative review, but I just felt so awful not sharing my entire true experience and how I truly felt about the product. This is the first product I've ever been sent that I didn't enjoy so its very strange for me, because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
If you are a consultant or potential buyer, please don't be discouraged by my review. It could just be me and I'm sure others have way better results and positive feedback! Just for me this didn't work and I won't be doing it again.
